Louise is a qualified chartered architect with over ten years of professional experience. She studied architecture at Bath University, the University of Technology in Delft and the Royal College of Art. Louise has worked for architecture practices both in this country and abroad. She set up her own practice in 2014 and joined the Arts University Bournemouth as a Senior Lecture and Professional Studies Advisor in 2015.
On the BA Architecture course I am a leader for the third year Architectural Practices unit, which introduces students to professional practice and prepares them for their year-out. Students prepare reports that reflect on professional practice issues pertaining to their major comprehensive design projects. Students participate in visits to live construction sites and mentoring with local practices.
I am also a third year (level 6) design studio tutor, which involves guiding and supporting students as they undertake their final major comprehensive design project focusing on a topic of their choice.
As the Professional Studies Advisor for the Architecture department I also mentor and provide guidance for students on their year-out in practice at stage 1 and stage 2.
