BIOG John Camble – Production Manager
John trained at the New College of Speech and Drama in London and has worked extensively in Stage and Production Management for over 30 years. In Repertoy Theatre at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter, Nottingham Playhouse and York Theatre Royal, in the West End with Stepping Out at the Duke of York’s, Wind in the Willows at the Mermaid, The Ballet Theatre de Nancy at the Palladium and This is Our Youth at the Garrick Theatre.
He has Company Managed several touring productions for Triumph Apollo, Bill Kenwright and The Really Useful Company.
He has worked for the BBC at the Riverside Studios, the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in Edinburgh and was Senior Production Manager for their corporate Make it Happen Campaign.
He was the National Youth Music Theatre’s Production Manager based at the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells and has taken their productions to festivals in Japan, Greece and regularly to Edinburgh.
As a freelance Production Manager he has toured Productions to France, Belgium, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Middle East, and the USA.
When Assistant Director at Nottingham Playhouse he directed many productions and assisted in transfers to the RSC Stratford and to Regents Park Open Air Theatre.
John has been working at the Arts University College at Bournemouth since 2005 on productions for the BA Acting Course and still freelances for corporate or local theatre companies. He has recently run Activate Aim Higher technical workshops for young people at the Lighthouse Theatre, Poole and recent large scale outdoor projects for Dorset’s Inside Out Festival were Site Manager for Cirk Vost in Poole Park, and Carabosse Fire Gardens in Central Bournemouth.
