Freya graduated from MA Textiles (Print) at the Royal College of Art in 2016, having previously studied BA (Hons) Textiles at the Arts University Bournemouth. She has a range of industry experience having worked as a freelance designer and completed design internships both in the UK and abroad. Freya returned to AUB as a Visiting Tutor before joining the BA Textiles team as a Print and Dye Technician. She continues to undertake freelance projects alongside her own creative practice. With an emphasis on craftsmanship, process and exploration, her research explores the relationship between analogue and digital print technology. Focus is placed around capturing the mark of the human hand and maintaining active participation in the creative process from paper through to printed textile. Working within the framework of Digital Craft, Freya investigates processes that exploit the qualities of drawing and enhance the visual/tactile aesthetic of digitally printed fabric.
