Type Tasting exhibition at the V&A as part of the London Design Festival 2013. Curated by Sarah Hyndman.
Alongside designers such as Alan Kitching, Ralph Steadman and Tatty Devine, Alice Stevens was invited to design a word about creative London and to complete the phrase: London =
Alice choose the word EPICENTRE and to set it in Gill Sans. Gill Sans is based on the typeface Johnston which and is used for the London Underground. The target references British history and 60’s fashion. The typographic treatment highlights the words ‘epic’ and ‘centre’ within ‘epicentre’. The colours also refer to elements of the London tube map.
The work was exhibited at the V&A.
