Under the rubric of “Extreme Territories”, staff and students were invited to draw inspiration from the Sainte-Barbe Hotel at Le Conquet, seen as a non-place due to its location: right at the end of France, facing out towards the Atlantic. This workshop was a cross-cutting experience blending art, design, graphic arts, architecture and sound. Eight students from EESAB and eight from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) joined together in artistic activity and day-to-day tasks. It was an opportunity to discuss different artistic and cultural practices. After a one-week workshop, the students completed experimental installations for an exhibition in the Passerelle Centre for Contemporary Art in Brest.
