MA Illustration students have been talking to AUB after their MA Show in the Northlight Studios. Here Terri Stimpson-Peay discusses her work
Can you tell us a bit about your work?
My work is all to do with the importance of nature and British wildlife – I want to get as many people involved with wildlife as possible, mainly children and adults who maybe don’t know about wildlife.
I do a lot of work with Dorset Wildlife Trust and the reason I brought out the concertina book and the teepee is to try to get people involved and interact with it.
With the animals I try to get as much character out of them as possible.
How have you enjoyed your time at AUB?
I’ve really enjoyed it. I did my Foundation here in 2009, then I came back to do Textiles here until 2013 then I’ve returned again to do this.
I’ve always loved it here – it’s a good environment with lovely people and is also very encouraging.
What do you plan to do next?
I have an illustrated homewares business so I did the MA part-time, so I’ve been able to integrate this work into my business work which is why the MA has been really helpful for me.
I did the MA to expand my skillset and I will now try to grow my business further.
