Figan Dastan is an Istanbul-born British artist, currently living and working in the UK
Dastan describes herself as an enquiring artist who is motivated by learning and the need to find out about the world she inhabits.
She gathers her raw material from the media in addressing current socio-political discourses and debates through her practice. Dastan’s work focusing on the causes and effects of humanitarian issues, inequality and dictatorial behaviour in every way of communities in the World.
As an artist, she would like to draw people’s attention to the situations by questioning, recording, reminding and sharing.
She uses photography, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, printing, and writing as a tool in her art practice.
Dastan’s latest work focuses on the destruction of knowledge and army relation in the World history.
