Promoting Resilience and Wellbeing with AUBe Happy
Cast your mind back to lunchtime Tuesday 30th January. AUB courtyard transformed into a swarming hub of activity, all in aid of AUBe Happy.
University doesn’t come without its stresses, which is why the AUB Students’ Union and Student Services teamed up to create AUBe Happy. The aim of the afternoon was to promote wellbeing by taking action on happiness and nurturing our mental health.
TAKING ACTION
From 12-2pm, the AUB courtyard celebrated in creative splendour. The mindful feast included a Hatter’s Tea Party with a delicious spread, circus acts, face painting, craft making, guided yoga and even Hula-Hooping to feed the soul.
Of the event, Beth Rubery, Student Union President, said:
“…A lot of people will be coming up to their final major project – it can be a really difficult time. So, we wanted to put on a big celebration of wellbeing to make sure that everyone’s feeling okay.”
A KIND REMINDER
AUBe Happy was a great way to connect with students of all disciplines and backgrounds and spread the message of wellbeing further.
Event organiser Celia Johnson, Senior Wellbeing Officer at AUB, said:
“The reason why we’ve put this on is to really try and address the environment here around managing stress, building resilience, and promoting happiness… Today is about reminding ourselves what does make us happy and what does help us feel more resilient to deal with our very hectic lives.”
