AUB has created a new platform to showcase its students’ creative output with the installation of the cube, a piece of art in its own right which showcases images of over 400 pieces of work.
The 3 metre by 3 metre construction, which currently sits in the middle of AUB’s beautiful campus, greets those who attend the University’s Summer Shows this year and its Open Day on Saturday.
The inspiring mix of different images held by the cube showcases the breadth of creative subjects on offer at AUB and represents the collaboration courses can experience during their time at AUB.
Visitors begin in the cube and are met with beautifully curated images of exciting, innovative student work, collect a map and start their journey around the Summer Show exhibitions.
The cube was created and installed by BA (Hons) Modelmaking almunus and Visiting Tutor Sam Edwards, who runs his own company Morf Creative, along with the assistance of Elliot Trent, BA (Hons) Digital Media Production alumnus.
Sam said: “I really loved working on the cube project, and producing a piece of art in its own right. It was immensely fun!”
Karen Thurlow, Acting Head of Marketing at AUB was thrilled with the fruition of the project; the collaboration between the Marketing team, Designers Bond and Coyne, and alumnus Sam Edwards.
She said: “The creative industries thrive on collaborations and so do we, the campus is a microcosm of the creative industries and the cube brings this all together.”

The cube will also be used at future on-site and off-site events throughout the year.
