BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design graduates have been talking to AUB after their London summer shows. Here Alex Barras discusses her work

Can you tell me about your show?

It was a first time designing anything live, which was quite intense at first but very good fun. I would say I prefer set, so I was really happy to just solidly work on a set which was very traditional. It had its challenges by being a house, and being period, because everyone will notice if it’s wrong because it’s so real. With fantasy you can say “that was meant to be there – that was meant to be a little too big” but with realism it was a real struggle to get period for two different periods to change over in the space of 15 minutes. It was a challenge but I really loved it and it was good fun.
