Student animation, The Potion Controversy, has won ‘Best of International Student Animation’ at the 2018 Australian International Animation Festival (AIAF).
Created by third year BA (Hons) Animation Production student, Oscar Stockdale, The Potion Controversy (2017) is a short animation about a dictator who ‘learns the hard way’.
AIAF took place from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th of May in Wagga Wagga, Australia. This year marked the 15th anniversary of the inspiring festival, where more than 120 films were involved in eight different programmes. Additionally, four free filmmaker talks were hosted alongside the ceremony.
AIAF is a non-profit venture that aims to bring inspiring independent animations to Australian audiences. Every year, the festival showcases an eclectic mix of films, giving audiences a complete, up-to-date snapshot of the international creative animation scene.
