On Sunday 29 May, you are cordially invited to ‘Springboard’; a celebration of dance and sculpture, in partnership with The Roche Court Educational Trust.

To be performed at Pavilion Dance South West, ‘Springboard’ is a chance for first-year students from the BA (Hons) Dance course to share their original choreographic material in a live performance setting, inspired by sculptures at Roche Court.

This platform event also hosts students from Bournemouth and Poole College of Further Education, and pupils from the Bourne Academy. Third-year BA (Hons) Dance students, Holly Burridge and Fiona Griffin curated the event for their final project, with four additional third-year students teaching at Bournemouth and Poole College and Bourne Academy for their projects.

This platform allows AUB Dance to fully support the local dance ecology, to create performance work around visual stimulus, and for our students to be a part of both the performance, curation, and creation of the event itself.

Speaking about the event, third-year Dance students, Fiona Griffin and Holly Burridge, said:

“This has been an excellent opportunity for us to take the lead in planning an event that we hope will inspire students who do not have the opportunities to explore art and dance in their everyday lives”.

In addition, there will be inspiring workshops and classes during the day, before the showcase performance on Sunday evening.
