AUB has once again maintained its position as one of the top four universities in the Southwest alongside Exeter, Bath and Bristol
According to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019, we also remain the top modern university in the region.
The Times reveals AUB is ranked 51st in the UK and its table shows we have the best employment record of any specialist arts university.
Its entry for AUB goes on to say: “Four in five students find professional work or go into further study within six months of leaving.
“Its triumphs in the job market has helped the institution to win a Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), a government assessment of the quality of undergraduate teaching in universities and other higher education providers in England.
“The accolades continued in 2018, with a Queen’s Anniversary prize for ‘distinguished degree-level education in costume design for the UK’s leading creative industries’.
“The citation noted the role of AUB alumni in Oscar-nominated films, along with TV productions such as Downton Abbey, while Ofsted rated its foundation diploma courses as outstanding.”
We are also currently the UK’s number one specialist university for employability, according to The Times Higher Education’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Metrics ranking* and AUB’s average graduate employment rate over the last five years is 97 per cent.**
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 will be published on September 23 and contains full profiles of all universities.
The league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
According to the 2019 Guide, the table provides the “definitive rankings for UK universities and the most comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain – it includes profiles on 132 universities and the most authoritative UK university league table, making use of the latest data published in the past two months”.
