This weekend Bournemouth’s annual Arts by the Sea Festival returns with this year’s theme Plastic Beach.
AUB’s Cube is joining Arts by the Sea’s Lead Open Call and World Premiere installation, ‘Turning the Tide’, by artist Mick Stephenson.
”Turning the Tide is an immersive large scale light installation which invites the visitor to walk amongst a sea of plastic. The installation and the surrounding area will be bathed in light, representing the ocean and a series of cubes will appear as if washed up on the beach” – Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival.
AUB’s Cube will sit within the series of Turning the Tide cubes, allowing visitors to step inside and view an inspiring mix of images of student work exhibited inside. The images showcase the breadth of creative subjects on offer at AUB, and represent the collaboration courses can experience during their time at AUB.
The Turning the Tide installation opens on Saturday 14th October at 12pm in Bournemouth’s lower gardens, and is open until 10pm on the evenings Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th.
The Cube will remain in the gardens until Sunday 22nd October acting as an information point and installation in its own right, and will be open from 9am – 5pm each day.
