Earlier this year, BA (Hons) Graphic Design graduate, Emily Braybook, won a trip to Japan as part of the prestigious packaging competition brief set by Joyo Bank Ltd. based in Mito City, Ibaraki and supported by British Council.
Emily has now returned from her trip and told us about the experience:
“Visiting Japan on my own was the most amazing experience. I got to stay with the nicest host family in Mito City, Ibaraki, see the most amazing sights and try completely new food.
During my trip I was able to visit the Makinohara tea stores to learn how to make Japanese style tea and see my packaging made in reality. The packaging features both my signature and the AUB logo.
I was also lucky enough to visit Joyo Bank and British Council in Tokyo who organised the trip and competition. Thanks to the Graphic Design course at AUB that I found and entered the competition in the first place, so the course really opens up new opportunities and experiences.”
