Friday the 19th of October saw the annual return of the Purbeck Film Festival Award Night at the Rex Cinema in Wareham, and we are proud to announce that two of our 2018 graduation animations were among the winners.
Wolf’s Lullaby, directed by Polina Morozova and Valeriya Solotska, won the award for ‘Best Student Film’, competing with both live action films and other animation productions. Nine Coo Five, directed by Anye Chen, was awarded the ‘Audience Award for Best Animation’.
Other winners included I Just Wondered Why by Les Veale and Lottie Kingslake, winner of the ‘Judges Best Animation’ prize, Letters by Anthony Hett, winner er of the ‘Audience Award for Best Short Feature’, and 1-0 by Nada ElAzhary, winner of ‘Best Short Feature’. Congratulations to all!
Now in its 22nd year The Purbeck Film Festival opened its doors this year on the 12th of October and will continue run until the 27th of October. During this time the festival offers a rich variety of cinematic experiences, screening classic films, independent productions, foreign language films and much more. The festival also operates throughout the year offering screenings for charity events and open air occasions at Studland, Corfe Castle and Swanage.
