What Is Art? Is an original performance piece curated and directed by recent Arts University Bournemouth BA (Hons) Acting graduate, Kieran Luxton.

The performance featured as a part of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2018 exhibition at TheGallery and was also performed in the CRAB studios on 17th January 2019.

The piece focused on questioning the role and importance of art within different cultures and societies.

Looking at subject matters such as immigration, racism, sexism, the voice of the youth and much more; What Is Art? demonstrated the importance of celebrating art in all of its forms and it unifies individuals to grow and develop into a community.

Having previously created a ten-minute movement piece of What Is Art? for TheGallery’s 20th Celebration, Head To Toe Theatre Company worked in partnership with the new AUB Theatre Company to develop this piece specifically to celebrate the art, cross-course collaboration and multicultural community that is at AUB.
