At AUB we want to support you as much as possible during your time as a student.
We strongly encourage you to register with a local doctor as soon as you start your studies at AUB to make sure that you can see a doctor quickly if you fall ill or need routine medical care during the course of your studies.
What medical care is available at AUB?
AUB’s Student Services work in partnership with the local Village Surgery to provide a dedicated medical surgery each week. The Nurse Practitioner holds a surgery on campus on Tuesday lunchtimes. For appointments at AUB, or at the Village Surgery, please contact the Village Surgery directly on 01202 525252. You will need to register with the surgery at least 24 hours before your appointment.
If you are an International or EU student we recommend you read UKCISA’s advice on how the UK medical system works and how to make sure you are covered during your studies.
How do I register with a local Doctor?
You can register with the local Village Surgery at Student Services or you can register at any other medical practice by going along with your medical card.
How do I find a local NHS dentist?
Many dentists only accept private paying patients and as dentistry fees can be expensive you may prefer to find an NHS dentist if at all possible. To find the nearest NHS dentist to you please take a look at the NHS choices webpage and enter your postcode.
Am I eligible for help with Health Costs? (Prescription charges, dentistry, glasses etc.)
If you are a full-time student, or you receive certain benefits, you may be entitled to help with health costs.
