Illustrator and artist, Marcus Oakley has many inspirations for his work, amongst many contemporary and nostalgic influences he includes; cities, folk music, the countryside, cycling and architecture and design.
Oakley studied at Art and Design at Camberwell College of Arts, graduating in 1996. He has worked for Paul Smith as Print designer in Menswear and now works internationally in areas as diverse as textiles, cook books, advertising and packaging and music. His clients have included Time Out Magazine, Channel 4, The National Trust, Random House, Citroen and the V&A.
Oakley has been a Visiting Lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts Farnham, at Bath Spa University, the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom and at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.
He was a Keynote Speaker in 2014 for Interpretation, an Illustration Symposium at the Arts University Bournemouth and Oakley is now a visiting lecturer in illustration at the same institution.
