As part of our ‘Core Skills: Design’ unit, we had to design a costume for a fairy/folk tale or fictional character we feel we relate to, and render this design both by hand and digitally. Photoshop had always seemed quite intimidating to me, however, with the help of my tutors, I quickly learnt how to use the once scary-looking layers and tools to render the design for my chosen character, Jane Porter from the Tarzan novels.
