Along with 3rd year and Master’s students of architecture, we took a trip to Amsterdam at the end of the Easter break. This trip had us look at how architecture works in a marine environment and offered the chance to explore a new city. Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities I have been to and offers a huge amount to see and do with its rich architectural and cultural heritage. We rented bikes (the BEST way to travel) and explored the many narrow streets searching for a new gallery, museum or a good beer. We are encouraged to travel as part of our course and this trip was a perfect way to drink in some real architecture in real spaces, and to lose yourself in the city.
