We are the regional delivery partners for Virgin StartUp.

We deliver Virgin StartUp loans to entrepreneurs starting or growing their business throughout the UK from Liverpool to Brighton – with our HQ being in Bournemouth at This WorkSpace, 18, Albert Road, Bournemouth BH1 1BZ.

Alongside our founder and small team, you’ll use your social media skills and creative flair to document and curate our activities and post on social media to engage with our audience and continue to grow our audience.

Our activities that need documenting on social media include:

  • Hosting regular events primarily in Bournemouth, but extending throughout the UK over the next few months (though you won’t be expected to travel to these events, just curate the content) featuring inspiring entrepreneurs.
  • Our top 50 iTunes podcast, “Screw it, Just do it” which is a weekly show interviewing both well established and up and coming entrepreneurs.
  • Hosting entrepreneurs at our office (and their locations) who are looking for funding.
  • Working with both local and national partners and sharing their content.

This role would suit an enthusiastic self-starter looking for an opportunity to demonstrate their social media skills within an exciting space.

What will I be doing?

Having just launched Virgin StartUp in Dorset 12 months ago we are now the regional delivery partners for Virgin StartUp. We are looking for a talented student to take on a Social media coordinator role to create and maintain a strong online presence for our company. Your role is to implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts. If you have an interest in communicating with clients through online channels, we would like to meet you.

We would like you to help in:

  • Creating engaging text, image and video content
  • Designing posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and creating buzz around new activities outlined earlier. As a Social media coordinator, you will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more customers and promote our brand. Ultimately, you should be able to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies.
  • Researching audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Creating engaging text, image and video content
  • Designing posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products
  • Facilitating online conversations with customers and respond to queries
  • Reporting on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans
  • Developing an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Overseeing social media accounts’ layout
  • Suggesting new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions. You will be responsible for enhancing the participant experience by researching and coordinating speakers, partners and attendees for events in your region i.e. source and contact local speakers, partners.
  • Promoting our events via social media and local press
  • Co-ordinating our volunteers support at events.

Whilst you’ll be based at our brand new central Bournemouth offices there will be opportunities to travel (expenses paid)

What skills do I need?

  • Social Media skills
  • Ability to use your initiative and maintain motivation when undertaking tasks independently
  • Computer literate – proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Enthusiastic with the ability to proactively seek new opportunities
