If you’re interested in pursuing a career in events, the Edinburgh TV Festival (21-25 August) is a great way to get hands on experience working at a fast-paced, international, and high profile event, with an annual attendance of over 2,000 delegates.

By assisting with varied events, sessions and activities that run throughout the week – it’s an exciting introduction to the world of large scale media events.

Steward duties include:

Putting together all delegate bags; organising and distributing delegate passes and sorting all print; prop buying for sessions; assisting with stage management and production; liaising with the venue manager to make sure all sessions run on time with the correct literature and props; meeting delegates, seating them for sessions and checking passes; meeting and greeting speakers and moving them from the green room to session venues; Festival and press office duties as well as on the ground support for networking events and parties.

In return we can offer experience of working at the UK’s most prestigious media event and a working environment with colleagues who are in the TV industry, as well as access to sessions, parties and events at the Festival.

As we are a charitable organisation these are volunteer posts but we will provide per diems, accommodation (if travelling from outside Edinburgh) and cover the cost of your return travel to the Festival. August is obviously a great time to be in Edinburgh, and you will probably have some time free in the evenings to enjoy the Fringe and other festivals taking place in the city.
