Planning your journey to study a creative subject degree at university

Since 1883 creative teaching and learning has been at the heart of AUB. We're dedicated to supporting schools and helping students make decisions about their future.

Our Global Schools team are passionate about creating more opportunities for young people to engage with the creative arts. We offer a range of opportunities designed to help you broaden students’ experiences.

Whether you're a student that’s certain on their career path or someone that’s figuring it out, we have a route to the creative industries to suit everyone's personal journey.

These 15-minute sessions will provide a quick introduction to all entry requirements for the different levels of courses we offer, plus portfolio and personal statement guidance so that you're prepared when you're ready to apply. These sessions will also be open to any questions you may have, giving you the opportunity to interact with our team and find out more about AUB and studying in the UK.

3D Dimensions – Shape and Form – 7 December 2022

Understanding how we interact with physical objects and space is a fundamental discipline for artists and designers. This workshop will explore brainstorming strategies for working in three dimensions to add gravity and weight to projects.

During the workshop you'll be able to make small maquette models using simple materials.

Please have these materials prepared for the session:

  1. Plasticine/blue tack
  2. Scissors
  3. Card (old cereal cardboard boxes will do)
  4. Wire (optional)

How to Build a Winning Portfolio – 4 January 2023

A highly interactive and reality-based look into what makes a winning arts portfolio.

Using real examples of student portfolios for evaluation, with useful tips and hazards to look out for. You will also be given an opportunity to obtain live feedback on your artwork from tutors and peers in this fast paced and helpful workshop for anyone considering an application to a creative university.

Typography and Visual Communication – 1 February 2023

How does the word and the image work together harmoniously? This is a question that we shall explore in this exciting workshop that challenges our understanding of typeface design and hand-made letterforms to express mood and feeling.
