Our strong maker culture puts collaboration at the heart of our everything we do

Sofia Romero

Product development in Millinery. Supported by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF).

Sofia Romero Gutierrez is an AUB Costume and Performance Design graduate (2017). Her new business, Sofia Romero Millinery, designs and makes bespoke headwear with a focus on storytelling and sustainable awareness.

Sofia received access to our dye rooms and costume studio to test dye processes as well as prototyping support in our digital fabrication workshop. Sofia was later awarded an AUB-ERDF Innovation Voucher to help develop her first commercial range. The R&D grant helped procure materials and specialist equipment.

The new range will be launching between 2018-2019.
