AUB welcomes Bestival to campus
AUB is delighted to announce that it will soon be welcoming the Bestival team to campus.
On Wednesday 26th April at 5pm, AUB SU will be hosting an open lecture entitled ‘How to Run a Festival’ which will see DJ and Bestival founder, Rob da Bank, founder of Leefest, Lee Denny, and Ele Beattie from Field Maneuvers share their experiences and insight into the festival world.
The free event will take place in A025 and is part of the Student Union’s Open Lecture series. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On 18th May, AUB24 x Bestival will see representatives from Bestival deliver a live brief to AUB students from across the University’s BA courses on Thursday 18th May.
Over the following 24 hours, students will work in cross-course teams with mentors, all with extensive industry experience, before pitching their ideas to a panel of judges the next day. Sleep is optional!
Students who are interested in taking part should speak to their Course Leader.
The evening of Friday 19th May will then see Bestival take over the courtyard, from 4pm – 10pm, for a special end of term event. The event is open to all AUB students.
Bestival 2017 takes place from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th September at The Lulworth Estate – an enchanting, wooded country estate on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
The festival was born out of ten years of pioneering music events and record releases from Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best empire. The renowned music specialist had a dream to create his vision of the modern-day festival, along with Creative Director and wife Josie da Bank and co-founders/partners John and Ziggy from Get Involved.
AUB24 sees AUB become the largest creative agency in the South West for 24 hours. Previous AUB24 projects have seen AUB students collaborate with Virgin StartUp, RNLI, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, Larmer Tree Festival and Bridport Arts Centre.
