TheGallery, Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), is delighted to announce the opening of a major collaboration with The Redfern Gallery, a new exhibition showcasing the work of Patrick Procktor RA.
Curated by Art Historian, Curator and Biographer of the artist, Dr. Ian Massey, ‘The Last Romantic’ exhibition showcases paintings, drawings, watercolours and prints and traces this prolific artist’s career over the course of four decades.
Last night, TheGallery hosted a panel discussion on the influential work and life of Procktor. AUB’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Emma Hunt, formally opened the exhibition.
Chaired by Professor Simon Olding, Director of Crafts Study Centre at the University for the Creative Arts, the panel included Curator, Dr. Ian Massey; Director of The Redfern Gallery, Richard Selby; Artist, Alessandro Raho; and Artist and Lecturer in Fine Art at Belfast School of Art, Ulster University, Dougal McKenzie.
The evening was a great success, as visitors enjoyed the chance to see many of Procktor’s works that have not been seen by the public for decades.
The exhibition runs until 25 February 2016. You can read more about the exhibition here.
