This year’s Dorset Business Awards will see AUB co-sponsor the Creative and Digital Impact Award, along with local PR agency, Liz Lean PR and in association with the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo.
To recognise the wealth of creative talent in Dorset and to highlight organisers Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s commitment to the sector, the award recognises inspirational examples of innovation, technological robustness and creative originality in any project undertaken within the last 12 months.
The county has a strong creative offering with a dynamic community, demonstrating skills in everything from digital advertising and marketing to app and software development.
Entrants will be able to provide detailed examples of their work that demonstrate the extent of their creative thinking and digital expertise, while showcasing how they have achieved the main objectives of the original brief.
Entrants must also provide the original project brief and are encouraged to upload a short one minute video to demonstrate their passion for the project.
Creative and Digital Impact Award checklist

- Description of both the creative and digital approach to the project

- The success criteria for the project and the overall outcomes
- Details of the measurable difference and impact the delivery of the project has had on both the client and the audience in which it was intended
Professor Stuart Bartholomew CBE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of AUB, says: “Dorset has a lot of immensely talented, influential people working in the creative industries and producing nationally recognised work.
“The introduction of this award reflects our commitment to promote and develop the digital sector as a key part of the region’s economy.”
Liz Willingham, managing director at Liz Lean PR, adds: “We are immensely proud to support this exciting award with the Arts University Bournemouth.
“Bournemouth and Poole, in particular, are one of the top 10 areas in the UK for employment growth in this sector and has the third highest density of digital creative businesses, so we are looking forward to receiving a diverse number of entries to reflect this.”
The Awards are also backed by the south’s leading radio station Wave 105 and are free to enter. Entrants can submit an entry via www.dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk.
The closing date for entry is Friday 9 September.
Entry is open to all companies which are based in Dorset with a BH or DT postcode and entrants do not need to be a member of Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
