TheGallery is delighted to be working with Widening Participation, AUB, to exhibit the regional heat of The National Young Photographer Competition for the fourth year running, awarded by Rotary International in Britain and Ireland (RIBI).
The National Young Photographer Competition aims to encourage young people to experiment with photography. With this, they can use digital or traditional methods to express their ideas through the medium of photography. This three-stage competition is designed to support and encourage the development of photographic skills.
Thousands of young people take part every year in RIBI’s youth competitions, which in most cases take the form of regional heats followed by a national final. The competition is open to students in full time education in three age categories:
Junior : Aged 7–10 years
Intermediate : Aged 11–13 years
Senior : Aged 14 –17 years
Photography is a skill and an ever popular art form. The aim of this competition is to produce photographs based on this years theme of ‘Reflection’ in colour or black and white photographic, along with a description of the inspiration for their photographs.
Brought to you in association with Widening Participation and TheGallery, AUB.
