BA (Hons) Commercial Photography Senior Lecturer, David Ellison, is currently exhibiting in North: Fashioning Identity at Somerset House, an exhibition celebrating the North of England.

“The rural landscape of Northern England is often ignored by fashion in favour of the densely populated industrial centres, despite these geographically only making up a small area of the region. When examined, it becomes clear that it is inadequate to talk about the North without acknowledging the importance of the countryside and the agricultural heritage therein.” – Somerset House.

David Ellison’s project Tek Hod, invites us to consider regional specificity and the almost folkloric wrestling unique to Cumbria. Speaking about the opportunity, David said:

“This is a significant exhibition featuring Turner Prize winning artists, and represents the biggest exhibition I have been part in my career thus far.”

The exhibition is open until 4 February 2018.
