From Friday 21st – Thursday 27th June, Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) will be turning into a giant exhibition space, as graduating students from the specialist University’s arts, design, media and performance degrees will be exhibiting their work as part of the annual Summer Shows programme.
With 1,060 third year students from 21 BA (Hons) degree courses exhibiting their work, AUB will become a giant exhibition space – a campus of creativity for the week, culminating in the Graduation Ceremony at Wimborne Minster on Friday 28th June.
Every year the Graduate Summer Show highlights the creative talent that has been fostered at the AUB, and includes cutting edge fashion collections that were seen on the catwalk at Graduate Fashion Week including Gala Awards Finalist Stephen Garvey’s collection; award-winning 3D models, including Modelmaking student Tom Le Gallez’s model of Slimfab’s The Haymker motorbike that won the prestigious gold plated scalpel for the Best in Show at New Blades and vivid displays of fine art exhibited in the optimum space of the North Light Studios. The Private View on Thursday 21st June from 6-9pm, provides an opportunity for industry creatives and members of the public to mix with the creative talent of the future upon graduation from the University College.
On Saturday 22nd June there is an Open Day Festival for prospective students to come and view the work on display, meet with Lecturers on their preferred courses and take part in a number of activities that will be happening around campus, including a print workshop, a real life Pinterest board and a creative crafts caravan.
In addition to the Summer Shows in Bournemouth, a number of courses will be exhibiting their work in London at various shows across the capital during June and July, including venues such as the UKs largest graduate art and design show Free Range; exhibits at New Designers, which showcases the very best in design; and D&AD New Blood, which showcases the best graduates in graphic design, visual communication, advertising, digital media, illustration, photography and other commercial creative arts.
