The AUB bike is to be displayed at Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth, as part of the ‘In The Frame’ cycling season.
The bike was originally custom made by Boscombe Bike Club, formed by AUB alumni Josh Kay, Jamie White, who are dedicated to turning unwanted bikes in visual art. Each individual bicycle that they produce has some unique elements that respond to the brief given to them by the customer. The original design for the AUB bike has has since been updated with a neon and black finish.
Curated by cycling enthusiast Tim Connell, the exhibition will showcase some of the most famous bikes ever manufactured. The gallery’s craft space will also has an exhibition titled ‘In the frame – Craft’, featuring cycle-related items crafted by makers from across the UK.
The exhibition launches on Friday 12th June from 6-8pm and runs until 26th July.
