This weekend – 7th September 2013 – brings the grand opening to celebrate the current exhibition in TheGallery. Arts University Bournemouth is delighted to present ‘Potential Architecture’ an exhibition of artwork by Lucy + Jorge Orta.
The exhibition brings together new work: sculpture, drawings and models created by Lucy + Jorge Orta during their research on new organic and modular architecture as a result of their collaborations with the Greenham partnership and other communities across Europe.
Additionally artist Claire Barclay presents a series of participatory workshops, talks and Punch and Judy performances in response to her project focusing on an exploration of the collaborative process through . This exciting series is part of the opening weekend of the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival, which opens on Saturday 21st September, WestBeach. The artist’s bookwork will also be available at TheGallery, Arts University Bournemouth and at other artSOUTH venues.
Coming soon: artSOUTH talk with Tom Hall, lecturer at AUB. Tom Hall will talk about Midnight – his cardboard room a reconstruction of one of the rooms within the secret rocket testing facility which housed the British Space Programme through the 50 s and 60 s at West High Down above the Needles on the Isle of Wight, and is now owned and maintained by the National Trust.
