Oddur Gunnarsson Bauer – BA (Hons) Architecture
With an interest in music, sound and place Oddur has created research work based on Guy Debord and Pyschogeography by composing ambient and direct sounds and music from Iceland and the UK.
By investigating spaces and external environments, Oddur makes work under the name Flâneur Icelander whereby he creates original music using the atmospheric sounds of places and buildings he has visited; inclusive of Reykjavik (Iceland), Tate Modern (London) and Poole High Street (Dorset).
You can listen to the music that Oddur created here.
If psychogeography is to be understood in literal terms as the point where psychology and geography intersect, then one of its further characteristics may be identified in the search for new ways of apprehending our urban environment.
