The 60 credit Postgraduate Certificate in Creative Teaching Practices can be taken as an award in its own right or as a complementary qualification with the following courses:
- MA Illustration with Creative Teaching Practices
- MA Graphic Design with Creative Teaching Practices
- MA Fine Art with Creative Teaching Practices
The three 20 credit (10 ECTS) units consist of:
- Theory and Reflection in Creative Teaching Practices (20 units)
- Embedding Evaluation and Enhancement (20 units)
- Creative Practice in Education (20 credits)
The three taught units concentrate on developing highly personalised skills, knowledge and understanding of teaching in creative higher education.
The course is supported by a mentoring scheme and applicants who are not AUB staff and who are not currently teaching elsewhere, will be able to take part in the delivery of at least three supported teaching sessions in order to gain some teaching practice.
On successful completion of all Creative Teaching Practices units, participants who are currently teaching and/or supporting learning within Higher Education courses at Level 4 and above, will be able to use their experience and knowledge to apply for Descriptor 1 – Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) or Descriptor 2 – Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).**
Students who are working or volunteering in an environment (including AUB) that requires a DBS or enhanced DBS check have a duty to their employer to ensure this is met.
AUB’s position regarding DBS requirements is clearly outlined in our Safeguarding Policy which can be obtained from our nominated Safeguarding Officer, Heidi Cooper-Hind.
**This is an additional cost.
