This highly practical and comprehensive 30-week (Level 2 – Accreditation) course covers a wide selection of technical and specialist modules within the field of Make-Up for Media.

Whether you are pursuing a career in the make-up industry, exploring a second career option or thinking of furthering your studies into Higher Education, this course will allow you to build a solid foundation of learning and understanding in which to develop and apply specialist skills and techniques when creating a range of make-up designs and hair artistry expressions.

During the course, you will be expected to unfold your creativity and practice new skills and techniques with your co-student colleagues. This will allow you to understand how to work with different face and eye-shapes, increase your awareness of skin types and textures, realise a design or client brief, whilst developing your practical application techniques.

During the three immersive and essential terms, you will be guided through multiple topics in which to focus on; expanding your overall knowledge, heightening your proficiency in designing and applying creative make-up artistry techniques, working in a professional environment, health and safety aspects and communication skills. You will develop your detailed research and cultivate ideas to showcase your make-up and hair artistry designs.

As your skills develop, you will explore professional practice and how to work to a client brief. The course takes place in a realistic, comfortable and professional working environment offering the opportunity for progression into the make-up arena or further learning. Through a series of talks, demonstrations, specialist workshops with expert teaching support, you will develop your professional understanding, practical skills and construct a portfolio to showcase your skills and talent.

Between course sessions you will be expected to conduct research as part of your course studies, your tutor shall also set individual project briefs for completion and further assessment.
