An opportunity for aspiring writers to develop techniques for unleashing their creative potential and for existing writers to revive and refresh their creativity.
Whether you are interested in writing novels, or writing for TV and film, or theatre, radio, or copywriting or blogs, there are many practical exercises which can help you find your voice and develop and hone your skills.
On top of discussions and individual and group exercises in class, you will be encouraged to write at home and to share your work with the group to gain feedback should you wish. (It’s not compulsory!)
THE COURSE INCLUDES
- Studying many elements of creative writing, such as:
- Finding your voice
- Working methods
- Selling your work
To enable everyone to discover and experience creative ways in which to get writing, keep writing and find the process less daunting and more enjoyable.
Course Outcomes & Assessment
- It’s a rare opportunity to study and try many different types of creative writing and to meet and get feedback from a wide, cross-section of people of all ages, styles and interests – all of which are intended to add to your enjoyment of writing and boost your confidence
- All students with 100% course attendance will be issued with an official AUB Short Course Certificate of Attendance detailing course contents, and study hours
There are no academic requirements. This course focuses far more on creativity than academia. (You won’t be judged or marked!) However, the course is perhaps not best suited for anyone with only a basic level of the English language.
