Max Catterall

Technician Demonstrator

As a photographic assistant, Max has worked in studios and locations across London and the UK on a wide variety of shoots. After his Commercial Photography degree at AUB, he trained as a producer and photographic agent, working with prestigious clients and photographers.

He is working with students at the Arts University Bournemouth to deliver a wide range of technical training, workshops and advice. His own work explores photography as a medium – with still life images, darkroom printing and, more recently, through a collaboration with Melanie Stidolp, in the production of videos that test the notion of the limitations of experimentation and the plausibility of equipment producing its own work, a partnership that has resulted in a number of exhibitions and being shortlisted for the Exeter Phoenix Moving Image Comission.
