MAP showcases second year work from BA (Hons) Architecture.

MAP is focused on the work that second year students create to explore architectural issues in and of sites in Poole, Dorset. The students study existing buildings, some of which date back hundreds of years into the medieval Old Town near the Quayside.

The design work includes a small Curiosity Shop, a medium scale Music School and a larger exploration of Future Scenarios where architecture can be part of a positive, hopeful adaptation to events that change the experience for people in buildings and their surroundings.

Students work closely with a world class acoustic engineer, and structural and environmental engineers from professional practice, to inform their technology studies in construction and materials.

The annual exhibition began in 2011 and has been curated by Channa Vithana each year. MAP also involves third year BA (Hons) Architecture students as Co-Curators. Students actively engage in professional curatorship of the exhibitions with TheGallery and Library at AUB, and the Lighthouse at Poole.
