Study is divided across taught hours, studio and/or work environment time, and independent study. Excellent professional and technical support is available and students are encouraged to experiment and work collaboratively on self-initiated projects. We expect students to spend an average of 40 hours per week on their studies, although it is likely that these hours will vary throughout the academic year.
Units at this level provide you with a sound conceptual, knowledge and skill base for the study of the subject.
A programme of studio projects, lectures, seminars, visits, case studies, guided reading and tutorials will be used to disseminate information and concepts and to develop your understanding of the subject. Considerable importance is placed on learning through practical experience within studio-based projects.
Year 3 year begins with experimentation through research by making. Then you will explore the ways that these ideas can inform a single architectural challenge. You will consider role of the architect and your options in turning creativity into a career.
