Dr Hardie was Project Leader for the Creative Interventions research project – a collaborative Higher Education Academy funded project that examined creative arts student experiences of work-related learning (WRL) activity in the public and third sectors. It set out to explore how such experiences contribute to students’ employability skills, how theseare identified by the students and how the activities are valued by students, the higher education institution and the external partners involved.
This project was awarded £200,000 by the HEA and the project ran from 2008-2010. The project partners were the Arts University College at Bournemouth (now the Arts University Bournemouth), the Surrey Centre for Excellence in Professional Training and Education (SCEPTrE) and the University of the Arts London.
Dr Hardie led on key outcomes of the project including recorded case studies with students, co-organiser of and speaker at the Creative Interventions conference – ‘Creativity and Work’ conference, organised with support from ADM-HEA subject centre partners, held at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, on 12th November 2010 , the collaborative Planning and Pitching your Creative Not-for-profit Project, at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, April 2010, and the project’s final report (available at : https://www.heacademy.ac.uk/system/files/creative_interventions_report.pdf)
