Through a series of exciting, hands on, mini-projects students will be encouraged to consider a wide range of modelmaking elements, including structure, form, space and scale.
This course is an introduction to modelmaking techniques. Aimed at all levels of experience students will experiment and explore with a wide range of materials. This will help students to build confidence in their making skills and communicate ideas in an effective way. Modelmaking will appeal to students if they have an interest in architecture, interior design and any of the applied arts, including jewellery. Within the University’s extensive studios, students will be shown how to safely use a variety of tools and technologies.
These innovative and exciting processes enable students to create almost any shape and object imaginable. By the end of the course, students will have produced a small physical model utilising the skills and techniques the students have learnt.
