My final collection was inspired by forensic science and criminology. I spent a lot of time watching documentaries and I visited a few forensic labs speaking to trained blood spatter analysts. It was all about crime scenes, dissecting a crime scene and different aspects of what you’d find at a crime scene. So it was quite taboo in its concept but I tried to make the overall appearance quite aesthetically pleasing. But when you would look at it and read about it, it would be quite unusual and you would be a bit shocked. That was the overall aim. It’s aimed at women’s fashion, mainly outerwear, so a lot of the fabrics are quite functional so waterproof or warm and cladded. I’m very interested in traditional textile techniques so these were all quilted pieces but they are made in a contemporary way.
