A small project, alongside my final major project was to create a fresh new design for the KFC bucket that will con-temporise it and elevate it to true iconic status. Relevant to every family, celebrating all of the different families in life that can come together. A celebration of the bonds that tie us together and the values of hard work, hospitality, authenticity, integrity and generosity.
I created a limited-edition design, along with a housemate, celebrating the theme of coming together and celebrating team work and inclusivity. Celebratory, energetic and bold designs using KFC’s signature colours of red, black and white. Keeping it modern and interesting with exciting illustrations and a witty poem alongside.
Two different bucket designs, following the story of Liz and Mike. Both follow similar but different journeys that end in both characters sharing a KFC Bucket with a group of friends. Liz, realising she’s not a cooking whizz, when has to host a dinner party and Mike who feels left out from his friends because he doesn’t feel like he has any talents. Both characters realise the solution to their problems is ordering friends over to share a bucket.
The idea, with there being a range of different bucket designs, following different characters, that customers can read, feel inspired by and talk about. We wanted to keep it fun and exciting, whilst also not too serious. Something memorable that KFC could carry on and develop. With the target audience being 18-34-year olds, of both sexes, we wanted to show a range of the possibilities of these buckets and where they could go if they were to be used.
