That Happy Place…
Performed by 2nd Years from BA (Hons) Dance and directed by Course Leader, Jane White, this piece of original dance theatre is also a collaboration with some 3rd Year students from the BA (Hons) Costume and Performance Design course.
The show has taken inspiration from a range of sources including Radio 2 DJ Fearne Cotton’s book Happy: Finding joy in every day and letting go of perfect.
That Happy Place’s influences are reflected in the performance’s synopsis. It reads: “It’s easy to assume that happiness is just around the corner, in the hands of others, or only for a chosen category of people.
“The beautiful thing is, it’s actually there for the taking, inside us all of the time, bubbling away waiting to be embraced.
“Can we navigate our way around the many viewing platforms available in this life, to find where each of us, as unique human beings place ourselves on the happiness spectrum?”
