AUB has had a long connection with the Venice Biennale and this year the Masters in Architecture course has been celebrating the British Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale with two AUB MArch students, Jamie Humphrey and Nigel Clarke.
Jamie and Nigel were awarded British Council Fellowships to spend five weeks in Venice with the British Pavilion, developing their architectural design and research.
The MArch course as a whole also spent a week exploring the remarkable Biennale event, this year themed ‘Reporting from the Front’ by the curator, Chilean architect, Alejandro Aravena.
The students visited the many pavilions and exhibitions, including a Zaha Hadid exhibition and Carlo Scarpa projects.
They also ran and undertook a workshop in the British Pavilion with students and professors from Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona.
The AUB students were supported by the Mike Davies International Award.
