Third year BA (Hons) Textiles student, Sarah-Jane Tickner, has been recognised in the 2016 Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery awards.

Sarah-Jane won Third Prize in the Textile Art Student award category.

The event was held at the historic Bishopsgate Institute in London earlier this month and included finalists’ work from around the world.

The judges scores were combined with votes from the public visiting the exhibition and this established the winners and runners up.

The Annual Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery was founded in 2000 to encourage the use of hand embroidery and seeks to discover emerging embroidery talent.

The event gives new designers interested in embroidery the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain experience and exposure.

The Prize receives thousands of entries from students from all over the world.
