Isabelle worked with Ralph & Russo for three months in 2015, as part of her professional experience, and assisted at the Paris Haute Couture show.
Isabelle tells us about her placement:
“During my first year of studying on the BA (Hons) Textiles course, I was lucky enough to do a placement with Ralph and Russo, within their embroidery team in London.
“I stayed on for three months into the summer holidays helping with their couture collections, and was taken to Paris to work on the show pieces for Fashion week.
“Since this initial internship I have freelanced for Ralph & Russo on numerous occasions. Now I have come to the end of my final year at university, I have accepted a full-time job working in the embroidery team, as a Haute Couture Embroiderer.
“Having the opportunity to intern and then freelance at Ralph & Russo was extremely beneficial, and I would highly recommend that textile students apply for internships whilst studying for their degree. It helped me build up my professionalism and confidence in embroidery and learning new techniques, along with a valuable insight into the industry – and in securing a job before I have graduated!”
