In 2014, students from BA (Hons) Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration and Visual Communication travelled to Berlin to view galleries, street art and take in the culture of the city. First-year Fine Art student Sian Hutchings captured and edited some of the highlights of trip and scored the final film shown above. On the trip itself, she said:
“The Berlin trip was a great opportunity to explore the wide variety of art at the heart of Germany. I visited many galleries, my favourite being the Neue National Galerie which included video pieces from Pipilotti Rist and collections from Karl Otto Götz.
There was so many sites to see and the city itself is open and lively, there was a chance to see the night life of Berlin too. A highlight of the trip was the chance to walk along the remainder of the Berlin wall and see all the street art in east Berlin and Checkpoint Charlie.”
