Pop Down is a collaborative project between AUB and Pop-Up Poole that aims to challenge your thinking and to turn your world upside down.

This project was a live brief for a pop-up shop to help regenerate Poole High Street with the theme of ‘Upside Down’.

The project was a collaboration between BA (Hons) Graphic Design and  BA (Hons) Visual Communication to offer an opportunity to showcase student work.

120 students from Visual Communication and Graphic Design took on the brief to come up with a theme and an identity for the pop-up shop.

All the students worked in teams and produced an impressive studio exhibition of their ideas and concepts.

From this, the concept of ‘Upside Down’ was selected and the team of eight designers were asked to develop the project further.

The other students were then briefed to develop the theme of ‘Upside Down’ through the integration of graphic and typographic elements.

The overall visual identity was to be black and white with a strong vector graphic feel. Students then had the opportunity to develop merchandise and promotional material for the shop including the making of a short film.
